Implementasi dan Relevansi Kultur 5S dalam Program Sekolah Ramah Anak di SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung

The 5S school culture plays a significant role in improving school quality; however, its implementation must be adapted to the school context and the Child-Friendly School concept, which ensures safety, cleanliness, health, care, cultural values, and the protection of children’s rights. This study aims to describe the implementation and relevance of the 5S Culture (Smile, Greet, Salam, Polite, Courteous) at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with interviews conducted with the principal, teachers, and students as the primary data sources. The results indicate that the 5S Culture is implemented through routine activities such as modeling teacher behavior, participating in Hizbul Wathan scouting, performing Dhuha prayers, and habituating Islamic values, thereby creating a school environment that is clean, safe, friendly, healthy, green, and comfortable. Furthermore, the relevance of the 5S Culture is reflected in character building, guided by the motto fastabiqul khairat (competing in goodness) and the application of Qur’anic and Hadith teachings in daily activities. This study confirms that the 5S Culture significantly contributes to character development and the enhancement of educational quality at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Bandar Lampung.
